This set-up process is specifically for those who would like to set-up the printers to be connected to over a Wi-Fi network. So it is recommended for those who would like to use the printer in a facility with access to a consistent Wi-Fi network, like an office, funeral home or crematory. This initial set-up will only need to be done once, for each printer, and then the rest of your team will be able to print to the printers over the Wi-Fi network!

Please go through the following steps on a mobile device, with a cellular data connection. This is because set-up requires that your device NOT rely on Wi-Fi to use Gather. Don't worry; we will make it so that you and your team can use Wi-Fi later!

Step 1: Download the Brother iPrint&Label app by Brother Industries from the App Store or Chrome Store.

Step 2: Starting with the printer powered off: Press and hold the On button and the WPS button, until you see the blue light above the Wi-Fi button flash three times:

Step 3: On your mobile device, open your Wi-Fi settings and look for the printer in your list of available networks; it will be called DIRECT-(5 Random Numbers)_QL-810W. For example, it may be called DIRECT-12345_QL-810W. Click to connect to this network:

Enter the Wi-Fi password of the printer; this will be 810, followed by the 5 Random Numbers used in the network name. So, in the above example, the password would be 81012345

Step 4: The following steps will require you to open the Brother iPrint&Label app! Open the app now.

Step 5: Review the End-User License Agreement.

Step 6: Click that we are setting up a QL-810W.

Step 7: Click Settings in the bottom right (you do not have to wait for the spinner to load)

Step 8: Click Printer; this will automatically trigger the app to pair with your device.

Step 9: After successfully pairing, click the back button to return to the main Settings page.

Step 10: Click Wi-Fi Network Setup

Step 11: Click SSID; this will trigger the device to search for local networks.

Step 12: Select the wifi network you wish to connect the printer to from the list of available options.

Step 13: Click the back button to go back to WiFi Setup

Step 14: Enter the password of the wifi network

Step 15: Click Connect

Step 16: You may see a dialog that the app wants to join the network; click Join

Step 17: Wait for the connection to load, and then click Connect.

Your printer is now connected to Wi-Fi!

Any staff member or device connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer will see the option to print from the Brother QL-810W printer. This allows other staff to print tracking stickers from descendants' tracking pages without any additional setup on their devices.
