First, make sure you know your SSID or Network Name (your wifi name) and your Network Key or Password. You will need this later to complete your Brother QL810W printer setup. Other items you will need are your Brother QL810W printer, the power cable, and the USB cable to connect the printer to your computer.
Plug in and turn on your Brother printer. First, Let's ensure the "Editor Lite" button is turned off. It is located on the bottom right of the printer. If the green light is on, press the button to turn it off.
To begin the setup, open a browser on your desktop. We suggest using the Chrome browser. Type install.brother in the URL bar and press enter. When the installer website loads, download the software for your current operating system.
Follow these steps to find your current operating system.
1. Select your Start button > Settings > System > About. Open About Settings.
2. Under Windows specifications, check which edition and version of Windows. your device is running.
Once you have downloaded the software for your current operating system, navigate to your downloads and double click to begin the installation process. When the installer window opens, verify that your printer is connected to your computer with a USB cable. After the installation ends, the cable will no longer be necessary, but be sure to keep it connected until prompted to remove it.
Once you get to this screen, click Auto Select.
Verify your printer model (Brother QL-810W) and click OK.
From the installation Settings Menu, verify that the printer driver and the P-touch Editor options are selected. Any of the other software or manual settings can be installed at a later date by rerunning the installer if you'd prefer. (It is typically faster to only install these two). Click OK.
Read and accept the license agreement and click Agree to to begin the download process. The length of the download will depend on the number of options you selected previously.
When the Brother Drive Installation window pops-up, click Next.
On the next window select Wireless Network Connection. And click Next.
On the next window make sure Brother Peer-to-Peer Network Printer is select. And click next.
If your funeral home uses an AntiVirus Software, or a third-party firewall, a warning dialog window may pop-up during installation. Just choose "allow" to continue installing. Click OK
On the next window select the Yes, I have a USB cable to use for installation. Ensure that the USB cable is connected to the printer and your computer. Click Next.
The closest wireless network (WiFi) will be selected by the installation program. If this is the network (WiFi) you want to use, select yes, and then click Next. . If not, select no and click Next to select your network from the list.
When prompted, you can disconnect the USB cable from the Brother printer. A notice will let you know that the wireless network setup is complete. Click Next.
On the next screen, select the Brother QL-810W machine from the list and click Next. Click Finish and the software and manual will be installed on your computer. Click OK to register your machine then click finish. Your installation is now complete!
