First, make sure you know your SSID or Network Name (your wifi name) and your Network Key or Password. You will need this later to complete your Brother QL810W printer setup. Other items you will need are your Brother QL810W printer, the power cable, and the USB cable to connect the printer to your computer.
Plug in and turn on your Brother printer. First, Let's ensure the "Editor Lite" button is turned off. It is located on the bottom right of the printer. If the green light is on, press the button to turn it off.
To begin the setup, open a browser on your desktop. We suggest using the Chrome browser. Type install.brother in the URL bar and press enter. When the installer website loads, download the software for your current operating system.
Follow these steps to find your current operating system.
1. Click on the Apple icon on the top right of your screen.
2. Click on About this Mac.
3. Across from macOS will be your current operation system.
Once you have downloaded the software for your current operating system, navigate to your downloads and double click to begin the installation process. When the installer window opens, verify that your printer is connected to your computer with a USB cable. After the installation ends, the cable will no longer be necessary, but be sure to keep it connected until prompted to remove it. When this screen pops up, click Auto Select.
Select your Brother printer model, Brother QL-810W. And click OK.
In the next pop-up, click on 'StartHereMac'.
Next select Wireless Network Connection and click Next.
On the next window select Yes, I have a USB cable to use for installation. And click Next.
Next window select Checked and confirmed. And click Next.
It will search for the Available Wireless Networks. Once it has brought up the list, select your network name (the name of your WiFi) from the list, and click Next.
Enter your Network Key or Password and click Next.
Confirm your Wireless Network Settings and click Next.
When prompted, disconnect the USB cable.
On the next screen, click Next.
Select your Brother QL-810W from the list of devices to install. And click Next.
When the driver installer window opens, click Continue.
Read and accept the license agreement and click Continue to to begin the download process.
Another little pop-up will ask you to agree to the terms of the software license agreement. Click Agree.
On the next window, click install. If prompted, enter your password and click install software.
Once it has finished installing, in the next window click Add Printer. From the pop-up choose your Brother QL-810W from the list. From the Use drop-down, choose the Brother cups driver for full printing. And click Add.
After is it done setting up, click Next.
Click On-Line Registration to register your machine at this time. Otherwise, click Next.
After that, the setup should be complete. You just need to click Close.
Installation is now complete! Click Close.
