At Gather, we are passionate about bringing people together, especially during times of grief and loss. We recognize that these moments can be difficult for both the bereaved and their loved ones as they learn to navigate life without their cherished family member or friend.
That's why we offer a comprehensive list of tasks that can be assigned not only to funeral directors but also to you and your circle of support. We refer to them as "Helpers," and they are more than welcome to lend a hand with any necessary tasks. By inviting them to assist, you can ease the burden and take comfort in knowing you have a caring network by your side. The following instructions should help make that happen:
First, you should be invited by the funeral director to be a Helper on your loved one's 'Organize' page in Gather. You would have received an email or text from Gather to set up your username and password. The email looks like this:
And the text looks like this:Once you're logged in, you'll be able to access your loved one's 'Organize' page and invite more Helpers by hitting the 'Invite' button:
βYou'll enter that person's information, including their name, email, and/or mobile phone number. You can also enter the person's home address and specify their relationship with your loved one. They'll receive an email and/or text from Gather
You can also add people as a Guest (see the top of the screenshot). However, guests can only view their assigned tasks instead of all possible tasks. This can be useful for assigning tasks like uploading photos or inviting people to a LiveStream if you choose to have it set to invite-only.
4. You'll then be given the option to assign tasks to that person, including standard and aftercare tasks:
β
You can also invite other Admins as well from this page to help streamline and organize which tasks you're giving to whom.
If you're unsure which tasks you've assigned, assigning a task to a person will change the green '+' sign to a red "-" sign.
If you need any assistance with completing tasks or inviting helpers, please reach out to your funeral home or funeral director!
