Making sure the right people have the right data at their fingertips is critical to your success as a funeral home. Because of this, we've made it possible to share your custom reports to individual team members or entire funeral home locations. Let's walk through how it works!
What does sharing a report mean?
When you share a report, it grants other team members access to that report within Gather. Once shared, the report will show up in the Custom Reports section of their mega menu as shown below.
🔒 And not to worry, you can only share reports with people who have the correct access levels, as explained below.
What options do I have when sharing my report?
When you click the share button on the top-left of the report page, you will be given two options for sharing your custom report:
1️⃣ Share to Funeral Home Location(s)
2️⃣ Share to Individual Team Member(s)
1️⃣ When sharing to funeral home locations, you can select any of the funeral homes to which you have access. To have access to select a funeral home here, you must:
Be invited to the funeral home
Have user-level access to the Data Source upon which the report is based
👀 Who from the funeral home will see the report?
Once a report is shared with a location, it will be shared with any existing and future team members who:
Have been invited to any of the selected location(s)
Have user-level access to the Data Source upon which the report is based
Once shared, the report will be displayed in their “My Custom Reports” section.
Any future saved changes to this report will also be automatically shared.
2️⃣ If you don't want to share the report with an entire funeral home location, you can share it with individual team members instead.
👀 Who will show in this team member list?
In order for your team members to show in the list above, they must:
Have been invited to any of the selected location(s)
Have user-level access to the Data Source upon which the report is based
Once shared, the report will be displayed in their “My Custom Reports” section.
Any future saved changes to this report will also be automatically shared.
Can a team member modify my report I share with them?
No. To help ensure the intent and integrity of the original report only the owner of the report can save any edits to the report. For convenience, the owner of the report will be listed on the top-left of the report page.
As with any report, team members can make modifications to your custom report and save it as a new custom report that they would then own.
QUICK TIP: If you ever need to transfer ownership of a report to another team member, send us a message and we can do that for you.
Can a team member send my report via email?
Yes. Team members can send your custom report to other team members via email.

Why can't Gather Reports be shared?
Unlike your custom reports, the standard Gather reports cannot be shared. The visibility of Gather reports is driven at a global level by individual user-level settings.
This helps maintain your data security. For each user invited into Gather, you can grant or restrict access to the Data Sources upon which all reports (custom and Gather) are based. By restricting a single Data Source for a team member, you can instantly remove access to all of the reports that are based upon that Data Source.
