Remotely

  1. Now that we've covered all the in person payment types, we also have a couple of options for remote payments: debit/credit card or ACH bank transfer.

  2. From the payment window select the option to pay "Remotely". This will allow you a new place to add the amount the person is going to pay, and then you will click on the "Send Payment Instructions" button on the bottom (Note: This is a great option for anyone who is not able to be there physically, lives far away, or would like to make their payment at a later time outside the funeral home).

3. This action will send an email and/or text, depending on how they were invited to help on the case, in order for the payee to submit their payment. You will then have the option to resend that payment in case they didn't receive it, or if they are not able to find that text or email anymore.

4. When the payer receives their payment request email or text, they will click on the "Pay Now" link and it will take them directly to the Payment's tab of this case:

5. Once the payer is on the Payments page, they will see two options to pay for the requested amount: card or bank account.

6. When they select "Credit Card" it will display the card processing fee below and calculate the fee total automatically.

7. Once the payment is processed they will receive the confirmation of that successful transaction.

8. Next, they will be able to view their receipt and print it so they may save it for their records. Now they're all set!

9. If the payer selects to pay by "Transfer", a new window will come up allowing them to verify the total charge and then they can confirm the payment by clicking on the "ACH Transfer" button.

10. Next screen will be a notification for them to agree to a transaction that goes through a company called Plaid (Click here to learn more about Plaid and why it's awesome). They will click "Continue" to move forward.

11. The next step is for the customer to select their bank. If they do not see it from the list of main providers, they can simply search for the name in the search box.

12. Once the bank is selected, they will use their personal username and password to access their bank information. Next, all they need to do is select the account from which they want to make this payment from (Note: The customer will have to ensure that they have sufficient funds in the selected account in order to make that payment).

13. If the payment goes through successfully for the amount, they will receive a confirmation that the transaction is complete.

14. Next, they will be able to view and print their receipt for their records. Their payment is good to go!

15. Lastly, you as the funeral home will now have live updates on the left hand side, on the payment summary window. Each Remote payment has a three dot menu next to it just like the contract line, and from here you have the options to View Receipt and Offer Refund for both remote payment types.
