Proper handling of time zones is critical to ensuring you are viewing the correct data. We have worked hard to remove confusion regarding mismatched or inconsistent time zones.

What time zone is used in Gather Analytics?

When viewing a report in Gather, the timezone is driven by the one selected in your Funeral Home settings on the My Funeral Home page.

If you are viewing a scheduled report it is driven by the timezone that was selected by the scheduler. When scheduling a report to be sent via email the scheduler has the option to select a timezone different than the one used for the Funeral Home they are in the context of. This timezone will be used for the data in the email as well as the link back to the report in Gather included on the email.

How can I change the time zone being used?

There is no way to change the timezone on the report view, without adjusting the timezone used all throughout your Funeral Home on the My Funeral Home page. This is to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout your funeral home in Gather.

Although, when scheduling a report to be sent via email you have the option to select a different timezone. This timezone will be used for the data in the email as well as the link back to the report in Gather included on the email.

Reporting Tip ☝️

Choosing a time zone for a scheduled report that differs from the funeral home’s default time zone can be helpful when sharing data with recipients in other time zones. This adjustment makes the report’s timing more relevant and convenient for the viewer.

What if I have funeral homes in different time zones?

If you are viewing a report in Gather that utilizes data from two funeral homes in different time zones, the report will utilize the time zone that belongs to the Funeral Home you are in the context of in Gather.

For example: Let’s say you own Schmidt Funeral and you have one location in Los Angeles (Pacific Time) and one location in Boise, Idaho (Mountain Time). If you create a report that utilizes data from both of those locations the time zone will be driven by whichever funeral home you are in the context of in Gather. So if you are viewing the report in the context of your Los Angeles location all of the times will be based on Pacific Time.

You can switch the Gather Funeral Home you are in the context of by clicking the logo at the top of the page and selecting a different Funeral Home.

What time zone is used for the selected date range?

In Gather Analytics, all dates are standardized to a single time zone to ensure data consistency. This time zone is set based on the default time zone of the active funeral home, as specified by the location chosen on the My Funeral Home page.

When you view a report, all date and time columns are displayed in this unified time zone, creating a consistent view of data across your reports. The selected date range (like “today”) is also based on this time zone, so “today” will be determined according to the funeral home’s time zone.

What if I view a report on vacation in a different time zone?

Having your device in a time zone that is different then your Funeral Home's time zone (like when you are vacation) will not affect your report data. When viewing a report in Gather the time zone will always be determined by the Funeral Home you are in the context of in Gather.

If you are viewing a scheduled report it is driven by the timezone that was selected by the scheduler, so it similarly will not matter if your device is in a different time zone. The times will always be driven by the selected time zone.

How can I see which time zone is being used?

To remove any confusion, you can view the time zone in the following places:

1️⃣ From any report, you can hover over any date column to see a tooltip that shows the day, date, time, and time zone:

Note: Even though the date columns in Gather only show the date value, you will still be able to see the full day, date, time, and time zone when you download the report. This ensures that you don't lose any data in the downloaded version.

2️⃣ From the bottom of the date selector:

3️⃣ When setting up a scheduled report:

4️⃣ From the top-right menu on any report:
