Once your insurance policies are syncing to your Gather case management, you should have policies populating in your Gather funeral home!

If you have not yet opted-in to Insurance Policy Syncing please review this article to get started!

Reviewing Policies

Reviewing the insurance report you will see three different statuses for each insurance policy.

  1. Attached

  2. Pending

  3. Unattached

Attached

An "attached" policy has been successfully paired to a case. When a policy is attached the Homesteaders policy information is reviewable when working within the policy.

Pending

A "pending" policy means that the policy has been identified as a likely match to an existing case in Gather, but we are waiting for you to confirm the match

For example: If there is a John Doe pre-need case in your funeral home with a DOB of 9/25/56 and a policy is sent from Homesteaders to your funeral home in Gather with a name of John Doe and a DOB of 9/25/56, that incoming policy would be identified as a match to that John Doe case and the policy would be put in "pending" status until you confirm the match.

After you confirm a pending policy it is then put into the "attached" status.

You can also choose to turn a pending policy into its own unique policy unattached from the pre-need case that was identified as a match or you can tie the policy to a different case. Both of those actions would result in the policy now being "attached".

Unattached

An "unattached" policy means that this policy was received from Homesteaders and there was no existing pre-need case that we have identified as a match to this policy. You can either create a brand new pre-need case from the policy or pair the policy to an existing case. Both of those actions would result in the policy now being "attached".
