The family wants three more things on the statement? Click the plus beside each product and keep going: the list stays open while you add product after product. Here is how it works, and where the plus stops.
➕ What does the plus do?
Open the list of products for a statement and each row has a small circled plus at its right end. Click a plus and that product goes onto the statement while the list stays open, ready for the next one. The plus then turns into a check circle, so you can see which products you have added with it.
Rest your pointer on a plus for about two seconds and a hint explains it, as shown below.
💡 Tip: The plus has no text next to it, so look for the small circled icon at the right end of each row.
🛒 How do I add several products without reopening the list?
1️⃣ Open the case's Statement page
From the case, click the $ icon in the top bar, then click "View Statement" (it reads "Begin Statement" if the case has no statement yet), as shown below.
2️⃣ Click the Add products button
On the Statement tab (Showroom, Statement and Payment run across the top), click the button that reads "Add products to [Name]'s statement", as shown below.
3️⃣ Click the plus on each product you need
The list opens under the heading "What would you like to add?" Type in "Start typing to filter list..." if you want to narrow it down, then click the plus at the right end of each product. Each one goes onto the statement and its plus becomes a check circle, as shown below.
✅ The check circle only records what you added with the plus during this visit. It clears when you close the list.
🔁 It does not stop a repeat: clicking a checked circle adds another copy of that product.
🔢 Each product goes on with the default quantity set up for it, or 1 if it has none. Change quantities on the statement afterwards.
❓ A product with a manual price, or a frozen statement, adds a question first. Both are covered below.
4️⃣ Close the list when you are done
Click the X at the top right of the list. The statement behind it shows what you added.
🖱️ What if I click the row instead?
Clicking the row itself still adds that one product and closes the list. Use the row when you only need one thing, and the plus when you need a few.
➕ Click the plus: adds the product and keeps the list open.
🖱️ Click the row: adds the product and closes the list.
🆕 Click "Add a one-time product": closes the list when you are done creating the product.
💲 What about manual prices and frozen statements?
If a row reads "Price: Specify Price", clicking its plus opens a "Specify Price" box first, as shown below. Type the price and click "Specify Price" and the product is added, and its plus turns into a check circle. Click "Cancel" and nothing is added, so the row stays as it was.
On a frozen statement, or when you add from the Payment page, Gather first asks "Where would you like to add this item?" before the product goes on, as shown below. The heading above the question reads "Statement is Frozen" or "Statement is Unfrozen" (the picture shows the unfrozen one), and the check circle appears only after you answer.
❄️ Heads up: Adding to a frozen statement may mean new signatures. Your two choices work like this:
✍️ "Add Item to Statement": on a frozen statement, the statement moves to unfrozen, the new item is tracked as a statement revision, and you may need to obtain new signatures.
💵 "Add Item Outside of Statement": the new item goes on the Payment page and the total amount due increases.
🔐 Who can add items?
Funeral home staff, including group owner and manager staff, as long as the right permissions are on. Family helpers do not get the "Add products" button, so there is nothing for them to click.
🔓 "Can Add Items": needed for the plus. Without it, the rows are disabled.
🆕 "Can Add one-time Items": needed for "Add a one-time product".
❄️ "Can UNFREEZE Statements": needed for "Add Item to Statement" on a frozen statement.
Why can't I click the plus? Each row is disabled without the "Can Add Items" permission. Permissions are toggles on each team member's Security tab, so ask whoever manages your team to check yours.
