Take a Tour of Your Organize Page and Event Details

A quick tour of your Organize page, what's inside each event's details, and how the look follows your funeral home's theme color.

Written by Zach A.

Open a case from your dashboard, and you land on the Organize page, the home base for the case. Here's a quick tour of what's where, what's inside an event's details, and how the look follows your funeral home's theme color.

What's on My Organize Page?

The numbers in the screenshot below match the list under it.

  1. Case Header: the decedent's name and key details, plus the Organize and Remember buttons.

  2. Helpers Row: the people on the case, with profile photos and initials in a soft white ring, plus the Invite circle. Staff also see watchers here. To hand tasks to family helpers, see assigning tasks to family helpers.

  3. Events Row: your events, grouped by day. Click an event to open its details. Staff also get a "Schedule Services" button here.

  4. Standard Tasks: the case's task list, with a search pill and three switches in Director View (see task search and filters).

  5. After-Care Tasks: a second column with the same tools when After-Care is on for your funeral home.

What are Director View and Family View?

Right under the case header sits a switch labeled "Director View" and "Family View", as shown below.

Director View is the staff view of a case, with the tools for running it: task search and filters, + Task Note, watchers and the staff-only parts of an event. Family View shows the case in the family-style layout. Staff can flip to it to check, and it stays on until you flip back. Family helpers don't have the switch.

With Family View on, as shown below, the page changes:

  • 👀 Watchers are hidden from the helpers row.

  • 📋 Tasks use a simple list, without search or filters.

  • 🔒 The staff-only parts of an event's details stay out of sight.

  • 🏷️ The header shows the display name, when one is set, instead of the full legal name.

What's in the Event Details Pop-Up?

Click an event in the events row and its details open just below it. Here's a Visitation as staff sees it in Director View, as shown below.

  1. When and Where: The pop-up opens with the event name and a countdown such as "Begins in 3 days" (a past event shows how long ago it was instead), then the date, time, venue name and address. If the time is hidden you'll see "Time to be announced", and with no venue or LiveStream you'll see "Location to be announced". On events with a LiveStream, a "LiveStream Available" pill links to the Remember page.

  2. Open the Venue in Google Maps: Click the venue's name or address and Google Maps opens in a new tab. Family helpers see the same link.

Important Note: The link opens a Google Maps search for the venue. It's a search, not turn-by-turn directions, and only the venue is a link, not the flower delivery address.

  3. Edit Event Details (Staff): Staff sees an "Edit event details" button right under the event details. It opens the edit dialog, where you change the event and save.

  4. Hotel and Flowers: Below that, a "Find a Hotel Nearby" button shows for staff and family helpers when hotel booking is set up for the event. On events with a LiveStream, staff also see "Order LiveStream DVD or USB", and How Do I Order a LiveStream DVD or USB? explains ordering. At the bottom, staff see the flower delivery address on a bouquet, with "Click to change delivery address" to update it.

With Family View on, as shown below, the staff-only controls drop out. The hotel button stays, since family helpers see it too.

Important Note: "Edit event details", the flower delivery address and the DVD button are for staff only, so families and Family View don't see them. On an Invite Only event, only staff can click the "Invite Only" label at the top to open the edit dialog.

What Changed With Gather's Refreshed Look?

The headline is the look itself. Here's what you'll notice:

  • A soft gradient in your funeral home's color on the Organize page.

  • One shared look across dozens of pop-up windows, including statements, payments, settings, and invites.

  • Refreshed profile photos for team members in Gather.

  • Family & Friends keeps the "invite new guest" button and the search pinned at the top while you scroll the guest list.

One control did move: the Invite Only switch is no longer in the event pop-up. Staff now click "Edit event details" and use "Make event INVITE ONLY", as shown below. Arrangement Conference events don't offer the switch.

Can I Change Our Location's Theme Color in Gather?

Yes! The look follows your funeral home's theme color, which your team picks in your funeral home's settings. From your dashboard, follow these instructions:

Click the menu icon in the top left, then "My Funeral Home", as shown below.

On that page, open "Select Your Theme Color" ("Gather will magically change to match"), pick a color and click "Save color choice", as shown below.

Three sample lines under the color box let you check that your color is easy to read. The color is set per funeral home, not per person.

Other FAQs About Gather's Refreshed Look

Which time zone do the event details use?

Your browser's time zone, which comes from your computer's time zone setting. If a time looks off, check that setting.

Why don't I see "Find a Hotel Nearby"?

That button shows only when hotel booking is set up for the event and the event hasn't passed. If you expected to see it, chat with our team.

Why is there no flower delivery address on my Arrangement Conference event?

That block isn't shown on Arrangement Conference events, and on other events it's for staff only.

Why do a few pop-ups stay Gather blue?

A few Gather-owned pop-ups keep Gather's blue instead of your funeral home's color.
