Full site control
Website Admins have comprehensive access to edit, manage, and maintain a website. They can fully customize content, publish changes to the live site, configure SEO, write blogs, and manage personalization. They can also oversee other staff, invite new website users and delegate permission.

Key abilities:

  • Manage and invite new website users

  • Full design and content editing

  • Publish changes

  • SEO tools, blog, personalization

  • Manage content library and connected data

  • Use installed apps and AI tools

  • View stats and SEO overview

  • To ensure your site stays secure and healthy: this role cannot fully reset the site, manage domain, DNS, manage site backups or publish the site for the first time. These permissions are only available to the Gather team.


✏️ Limited Editor

Can edit existing widgets and re-publish
Limited Editors can update content in existing widgets and re-publish those changes live. They cannot add new widgets or sections, but they can contribute to the blog, moderate comments on the site, and use the content library to upload new images or replace old ones. Perfect for staff who maintain content but don’t control site design or structure.

Key abilities:

  • Edit existing text and images

  • Publish changes live

  • Write blog posts

  • Comment on site

  • Use content library and view stats

  • View SEO overview

  • Cannot: first-time publish, add widgets, edit layout/structure, manage domain

Blog-only contributor
Bloggers can write and manage blog posts but don’t have access to any other editing or publishing tools. Ideal for users focused solely on content creation.

Key abilities:

  • Write blog posts and publish those live

  • View site stats and SEO overview

  • Use AI tools to help with blogging

  • Cannot: edit site content or make any changes to the site pages

Read-only visibility for the site
This role is for team member who want to see how the site is performing and preview changes that the website editors are making. They can preview pages and review SEO analytics but can’t make or publish any changes themeselves.

Key abilities:

  • View a site before it is live: perfect for getting feedback from your team without needing to give them edit access!

  • View SEO analytics

  • Cannot: edit, blog, comment, or publish
